Treetops Lodge is famous as the place where Princess Elizabeth became Queen Elizabeth II of England while staying at the Treetops Lodge in Aberdares.
Return the Bush Initiative
Aberdare Safari Hotels have embarked on an initiative dubbed "Return the Bush" in conjunction with KWS. The initiative involves the rehabilitation of 125Ha of Aberdare National park that has been degraded by the toll the fenced in Elephant population has exerted on the ecosystem. Part of the project span is to complete the 3-4 paddock fencing and planting 10Ha around the lodge which will take 4 years starting May 2007.
Thereafter embark on the rest of the salient. Treetops Lodge in Aberdares National Park is located in the salient area of the park and all the visitors to this unique game viewing lodge, the flora and fauna will all benefit greatly from this exercise. In addition this initiative will in no small way contribute to the global effort of restoring, maintaining and managing the Aberdare Rainforest Ecosystem which is the water catchments and supply source for the nations capital's 4 million residents!
Mooreland visit
Ever wondered what lies beyond the salient in Aberdare National park? Only way to find out is by taking a full day trip to the Mooreland. Picnic lunch will be provided on this breathtaking tour during which one will experience the diversity of Aberdare Mountain range ecosystem, the spectacular Karuru and Gura falls situated across the Valley from one another. Kenya's 2nd tallest waterfalls!
