Just a quick line to say how much we enjoyed our Safari, Edward realy went out of his way to make sure we enjoyed ourselves and that we stayed happy and safe the whole time.

We were picked up promptly at the airport even though our plane was running late... thanks for that.

Masai Mara was just spectacular we saw all the animals we expected to and more, it was a little wet but this just added to the enjoyment as we got to see the plains grow grass and get very green.

e saw plenty of drama also with Lions attacking Buffalo and also a Lion being seen off by the Buffalo, this was much more than we expected to see. We saw a Cheetah and a baby cheetah which was awsome as well.
Lake Nakaru

I really liked Lake Nakaru, this was where we got to se Rhinos Flamingos and the view point was amazing , being a photographer i really enjoyed Lake Nakuru, i would like to have of had an extra day here also to have of had time to take some tea in the little tea shop.

Hells gate, we did not realise that we could hire bikes here, we definetley would have of done if we had of known.

Amboseli
Wow, there was a little less wildlife here than the mara but the scenery is spectacular, seeing Mount Kilimanjaro was great, we got some nice sunset shots of Kili. The Elephants were mgnificent here, we alos saw a some hyenas take down an elephant .... heartbreaking but thats just the circle of life.

I would reccomend African Home Adventures to anyone planning a Safari and i would certainly reccomend Edward as your driver.

Good morning,
we came back home two days ago and we want to tell you how much wonderful the safari has been: from 7th oct 2009 to 14th oct 2009.
1) The organization has been fantastic
2) The national parks have been wonderful
3) The lodges and the service have been perfect
4) The food has been very very tasteful
5) But above all our driver has been the most special person we have ever met: he was kind, professional, punctual, nice, very polite, he led us into a fantastic country like Tanzania. He helped us to appreciate special sites, special people like Tanzanians, animals, landscapes.

Excuse me but my bad English doesn't allow me to express all my enthusiasm in this trip: we have appreciated so much everything and we promise you to recommend your organization to all our Italian friends.

As you were not in a position to organize a tour to Kenya, I went there on my own and I am sending this information with the belief that it would benefit you and others who wish to travel to Kenya, by adding Kenya to your list of tours. I think many of your regular clients would be happy to go there.

I found hundreds of tour operators in Kenya and finally selected Africa Home Adventure whose e-mail address is info@africahomeadventure.com. I am glad I chose them for several reasons:
They are not a private business. They are a project of the International Youth Hostels. You can be sure that they are always aboveboard in organizing their tours. They are more or less an NGO. Mr. Albert Auko is their Tour Advisor whom I found to be very honest, knowledgeable, courteous and helpful. In fact, he came personally to meet me at the Airport. You can rely on him confidently.
Africa Home Adventure is a small company with about 5 vehicles and a team of devoted workers. Another advantage of travelling with them is that their Hostel can put up travellers on arrival and before departure at a cost of about $12 a night. Staying in a hotel would cost more than half the budget of the tour. I took a camping safari for a week to 3 game reserves in the South, West and North of the country and my airfare and safari cost me around $1300. Of course, camping is tough but I went through it without problems at the age of 75. If you want to stay in hotels, the tour could cost anything above $2000. Costs will depend on various factors like time of travel, the number travelling and the comforts desired. These details you can discuss with Mr. Ouko. I should think you would be able to organize a tour to Kenya at the same rate you charged us for China. I think our operators make the mistake of trying to take a large number in a tour to minimize costs. That does not work. One tour I tried to join wanted to take over 15 on a luxury tour for just $1350 but they could not collect the crowd. In any case, they normally do not take people in buses into the reserves. The usual vehicle is the open top van which can take upto about 10 but with baggage, 5 to 7 would be an ideal optimum. If you have more they will use more vans.
I found the tour to Samburu was very arduous in travel and comfort, not commensurate to the cost and travail. Masai Mara and Nakuru is enough to give a traveller a good experience of the Kenyan Jungle. So much for the present. I trust my experience would help you to introduce Kenya to your list of tours. You can get the packages available from Mr. Ouko. Please give me your feedback after travel, so that I can make it available to more friends.

Message: The expreience was fantastic and I wanted to send my thanks to Nickson and Odis who worked hard to make it as pleasant as possible. The staff were quite professional and as a single female traveller it was important for me to feel safe and be given my space.
The booking process was good, but when I arrived at the camp in Masai Mara it turned out they didn't have a tent for me as it was overbooked. I have been given a very basic tent with no facitlities for 1 of the 2 nights there. Needless to say i wasn't happy about that. The 2nd night accommodation was much better - a comfy tent with bathroom and electricity called Mount Kenya. The staff at the camp were helful. The driver who brought us from Nairobi was also our guide for the time in Masai Mara and was very nice and accommodating to our needs.
Lake Nakuru was nice too, but i would have prefered to go to Lake Bogoria, and indeed organised this trip as welll later. The hotel we stayed not far from Lake Nakuru was of low standard. Windows facing the restaurant courtyard and you couldn't keep the window open as the smalls and naises from the kitchen would disturb you till late at night. but it was nice to have a proper toilet again!
Generally i would recommend the company but only if they can ensure you will have the accommodation you pay for.
The Masai Mara was heaven on earth - so peaceful and it gives you an increadible sense of belongin. You never get tired of the drives and they go out at various times of the day so that you get a different light for the photos. I am greatful that i could go there and for this i thank you!

We had an excellent safari with Odhis . He made us feel comfortable and safe and did his best to make sure we saw all animals. Infact, thanks to his knoledge and good guidance we have seen everything even black rhino and leopard . We would definately recommend Odhis and i feel he is an asset to African Home Adveture: Perhaps provide more information before safari about distance between parks, travel and time, features of different parks etc. Really liked Samburu Sopa Lodge.

Our Guide Edward is a very good driver, knowledgeable about the animals +gave us the opportunity to see + photograph all the animals. He is very professional and has a good sence of humor. We thoroughly enjoyed all of the parks each one has very different, but i would recommend a shorter game drive in Aberdares and long time at the treetops lodge instead to see the Elephants.
The hot air baloon ride in masai mara was an experience of a lifetime, we would highly recomend baloon safaris. Nickson organized a great itenerary we appreciated his flexibility in accommodation our schedule at a very short notice.
We had an incredible time !!! Thank You.

Odhis gave us an excellent 12 days adventure safari, he knew his animals and birds and uses his very good eye sight to sport game for us. If he did not know the name of a particular bird, he would look up the information in his guide. At no time were we rushed, the various campsites the cooks were super at there jobs and always eager to please. We highly recomend African Home Adventure Safari

It was an excellent (small) holiday and got more than what we expected. Our guide always went the extra mile to give us a memorable experience. the country - The people were friendly, Beautiful, The culture breathtaking I do however wish the facilities at the campsite be made more user friendly – involve the guests with the staff –other guests. Overall excellent. Thumbs up for ODHIS the driver he was excellent.

1) Odhis Boniface was an excellent tour driver guide, communicator, and able to explain fully everything we needed to know. Also a very good organizer and planner, thinking in advance about everything that needed to be done.
I would recommend Odhis to anybody. Everybody also associated with African Home Adventure Ltd was also very helpful.

2) Some research into fishing safari before i come back .Odhis provided excellent service and advice was always trying to help in any way possible he went to great effort to organize fishing trip when none existed .He made it happen for us. I would use Odhis when I return, he drove with great skill in difficult circumstances and always had agood smile and laugh. Thank you

I wanted to send a thank you to all of you at the hostel for your warm reception.You may remember i was the American who got sick the last two days i was there.I got home fine and got medical attention.I am sorry for any inconvinience i may have caused while ill.

Martin and the cheff did a wonderful job of their respective duties : credit to them!
The only our point was the lack of electricity at the camp. Getting the wild feeling is ok but one does not need to charge batteries.

We have been back to Hong Kong and having our normal life again after an exciting trip from Kenya. We all appreciate very much for your valuable advice and information given to us before and during our stay in Kenya. We had a very memorable holiday this summer. Our impressions to Kenya were excellent, especially the people like yours, are so kind and friendly. The experience of staying in wild campsites (especially in Amboseli) and seeing a lot of lions, leopards and cheetahs were so amazing. We hope one day we will go and visit you all again.

The safari was excellent. The value for money was specially good. I was expecting very basic facilities at the campsite but the proper bed and hot showers were an excellent surprise. Kaka was very accommodative and got us as close to the animals as possible. The food was also adequate. I would recommend the company to anybody coming to Kenya as it met all my expectations and the price was fantastic. The Chester hotel was good too only comment would be slightly limited selection of food. Thank you for a great time!

The campsite was very good as well as the food brilliant. My only comment is that on some days the meals were disorganized because each group were eating separately. It worked better when groups joined each other. Driving was excellent - felt very safe and he did well and kept happy under difficult driving conditions.

We are back in Barcelona after our great time in Kenya and after some weeks of work in England.
Going to Kenya was really and amazing experience for us, the safari was like a dream come true. The landscape, the people as the culture in Kenya are great and left really good feelings and memories in us.

Great customer care service before checking in. Staff more than happy to negotiate and be flexible. Main praise is for our driver Alexander the Great who made our trip unforgotable and was my first safari guide who got us a leopard sighting!!!. In fact there was two.
